La Conférence des Nations Unies sur le commerce et le développement (CNUCED) a lancé aujourd'hui la Revue du transport maritime 2024 : Naviguer à travers les points de passage maritimes, qui aborde les vulnérabilités critiques des routes maritimes mondiales, y compris les canaux de Suez et de Panama.

Cela se situe entre 2025 et 2029, et le commerce conteneurisé devrait augmenter de 2,7 % à moyen terme. Nous pensons maintenant que cette croissance sera soutenue par les avancées technologiques, la transition vers une énergie plus propre et un intérêt renouvelé pour l'investissement dans les infrastructures maritimes et commerciales. »

Le protectionnisme croissant et les restrictions commerciales qui en résultent sont en hausse. »

Vous voyez, lorsque l'avenir est incertain ou très incertain pour nous en tant que consommateurs, ce que nous faisons d'abord, c'est de serrer la ceinture et nous ne dépensons pas et n'investissons pas, nous passons simplement en mode attente. »

Et la perturbation de la mer Rouge a eu un impact significatif sur les tarifs des conteneurs. Bien que les tarifs aient baissé ces derniers mois, ils restent bien au-dessus des tarifs observés avant la pandémie de Covid-19, et cela est très préoccupant. Et surtout, les tarifs de fret élevés et volatils et l'incertitude qu'ils apportent au coût des affaires sont un frein important au commerce international. »
