Réunion informelle sur Chypre, ONU Genève - arrivées le 18 mars 2025


De nouvelles discussions sur l'avenir de Chypre se sont poursuivies mardi alors que des représentants de l'île méditerranéenne divisée se sont réunis à l'ONU à Genève, avec les garants Grèce, Türkiye et le Royaume-Uni, à la demande du chef de l'ONU, António Guterres.

L'ONU a dirigé les négociations en vue d'un règlement des problèmes qui ont conduit à la division de l'île, le Conseil de sécurité ayant autorisé une force de maintien de la paix en 1964, l'UNFICYP. En l'absence d'un accord durable, la force reste sur l'île pour superviser les lignes de cessez-le-feu, une zone tampon et pour soutenir les activités humanitaires.
