L'ensemble de l'appareil d'État a été mobilisé avec des forces de sécurité utilisant des armes à feu, y compris des AK-47 et des Uzis, comme nous l'avons documenté dans certaines zones, entraînant des blessures et des décès. Des chiffres crédibles que nous avons trouvés font état de jusqu'à 551 décès, dont au moins 49 femmes et 68 enfants, et nous avons constaté que ceux-ci se sont produits dans 26 des 31 provinces de l'Iran sur plusieurs mois.”

Nous avons trouvé des incidents de torture et de mauvais traitements en détention, des manifestants étant battus même pendant leur arrestation. Et ensuite quand ils étaient en détention aussi. Nous avons trouvé des cas de torture, en particulier de violence sexuelle, de violence basée sur le genre. Nous avons trouvé des cas de viol en réunion, de viol avec un objet, une femme étant systématiquement pelotée et touchée tout au long du processus et souvent abordée en termes extraordinairement misogynes.”

- EXTRAIT SONORE (Anglais) – Sara Hossain, Présidente de la Mission d'enquête : “Ce que nous avons constaté, c'est que les forces de sécurité tiraient sur les manifestants et aussi sur les passants à très courte distance de manière ciblée, causant des blessures à la tête, au cou, au torse, aux parties génitales, mais particulièrement aux yeux. Et nous avons trouvé des centaines de manifestants avec ces blessures qui changent la vie, dont beaucoup sont maintenant aveugles et marqués à vie comme dissidents.”

UN Human Rights Chief Volker Türk on Thursday briefed the Human Rights Council in Geneva on the human rights situation in Sudan: “Nearly three years of brutal conflict have almost turned Sudan into a land of despair. The report I am presenting today is yet another chapter in the chronicle of cruelty. It outlines clear, ongoing patterns of violence against civilians, including killings, rape, and torture. As the fighting has intensified, violations of international law by all parties to the conflict have surged, while accountability has remained practically absent,” he said.
