La 61ème session du Conseil des droits de l'homme a été ouverte le lundi 23 février 2026 et se poursuivra jusqu'au 31 mars 2026. Le Conseil des droits de l'homme est un organe intergouvernemental au sein du système des Nations Unies composé de 47 États responsables de la promotion et de la protection de tous les droits de l'homme à travers le monde.
Il a la capacité de discuter de toutes les questions thématiques relatives aux droits de l'homme et des situations qui nécessitent son attention tout au long de l'année. Il se réunit au Bureau des Nations Unies à Genève.

UN Human Rights Council holds special session on Sudan as mass atrocities reported in El Fasher
The UN Human Rights Council convened an emergency session on Friday on the situation in and around El Fasher, Sudan, following reports of mass killings in the North Darfur capital. States passed a resolution that will mandate an investigation into likely mass atrocities during the capture of El Fasher by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on 26 October.
