Alessandra Vellucci du Service d'information des Nations Unies (UNIS) à Genève, a présidé le point de presse hybride, auquel ont participé les porte-parole et les représentants du Haut-Commissariat des Nations Unies aux droits de l'homme, du Bureau de la coordination des affaires humanitaires, du Fonds des Nations Unies pour l'enfance, de l'Organisation mondiale de la santé et de l'Organisation météorologique mondiale.
Situation en Israël et dans le territoire palestinien occupé, 100 jours plus tard
Elizabeth Throssell, pour le Haut-Commissariat des Nations Unies aux droits de l'homme (HCDH), a déclaré que ce dimanche marquerait les 100 jours depuis que le Hamas et d'autres groupes armés palestiniens avaient lancé leur attaque horrible contre Israël, au cours de laquelle 1 200 personnes, principalement des Israéliens, ont été tuées et environ 250 prises en otage. Au cours des 14 dernières semaines, alors qu'Israël avait mené une riposte militaire, plus de 23 000 Palestiniens avaient été tués, environ deux tiers d'entre eux étant des femmes et des enfants. Comme l'avait souligné à plusieurs reprises le Haut-Commissaire des Nations Unies aux droits de l'homme, Volker Türk, il fallait un cessez-le-feu immédiat pour des raisons humanitaires et de droits de l'homme. Le HCDH avait souligné à plusieurs reprises les manquements récurrents d'Israël à respecter les principes fondamentaux du droit international humanitaire pendant les hostilités, soulignant que les violations de ces obligations risquaient de les exposer à des poursuites pour crimes de guerre.

UNECE Press conference on the Ministerial Meeting on Housing Affordability and Sustainablility
On 8 October 2025, UNECE member States' ministers meet to focus on the urgent challenges and strategic priorities surrounding housing affordability and sustainability in the UNECE region. Ten years after the adoption of the Geneva UN Charter on Sustainable Housing, ministers will highlight challenges and key priorities for the achievement of the Charter's objectives, and present good practice and strategic solutions in this regard. As the key outcome of the meeting, ministers will be invited to agree on practical commitments towards sustainable and affordable housing.
The meeting will take place as part of the eighty-sixth session of the UNECE Committee on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management (8–10 October 2025).
