WHO Press Conference on Universal Health Coverage (UHC)

Ahead of Universal Health Coverage Day on 12 December, WHO and The World Bank will release the latest data on universal health coverage, revealing the impact of COVID-19 on health systems and services and people’s ability to pay for care. They also spell out what needs to happen to do to ensure that people in all countries can access affordable services.

Universal Health Coverage Day is an opportunity to review progress and identify gaps in ensuring that everyone, everywhere, can access the health care they need, close to where they live and without falling into financial hardship. It is also a day to focus on what needs to happen next to achieve continuous, concrete progress towards a fairer and healthier world.

Speakers:

  • Stephen Mac Feely, Director, Department Data and Analytics, WHO
  • Feng Zhao, Practice Manager, Health, Nutrition and Population Global Practice, World Bank
  • Joseph Kutzin, Director, Department Health Governance and Financing, WHO
  • Nelly Biondi, Technical lead, Department Data and Analytics, WHO
  • Gabriela Flores, Technical lead, Department Health Governance and Financing, WHO
  • Ajay Tandon, Lead Economist, Health, Nutrition and Population Global Practice, World Bank
