وصفاً للوضع الكارثي في غزة بعد شهرين من بدء الانتقام الإسرائيلي عقب هجمات حماس الإرهابية في 7 أكتوبر في جنوب إسرائيل، حذرت وكالة الصحة التابعة للأمم المتحدة (منظمة الصحة العالمية) يوم الجمعة من أن الجيب المدمر بالحرب يواجه "انهيار" المجتمع.
“الناس بدأوا في قطع أعمدة الهاتف للحصول على القليل من الحطب للبقاء دافئين وربما للطهي إذا كان لديهم أي شيء متاح. لذا نحن في ذلك المستوى حيث الحضارة على وشك الانهيار،” قال المتحدث باسم منظمة الصحة العالمية كريستيان ليندمير للصحفيين في جنيف.

أفاد المتحدث باسم منظمة الصحة العالمية أنه يوم الجمعة “كان لدينا قافلة من المفترض أن تصعد بالإمدادات الطبية ولإجلاء 12 مريضاً من مستشفى الأهلي في الشمال إلى الجنوب. تلك المهمة، قيل لنا هذا الصباح، كان يجب تعليقها بسبب الوضع الأمني.” وأضاف أن منظمة الصحة العالمية تحاول إجلاء بعض المرضى إلى الإمارات العربية المتحدة.
“العاملون في المجال الصحي بحاجة إلى الفرار والاعتناء بأنفسهم فوق ذلك. ليس لديهم طعام. ليس لديهم ماء لمواصلة العمل. المرضى ينزفون على الأرض،” قال المتحدث باسم منظمة الصحة العالمية. “تشبه أجنحة الصدمات ساحات المعارك، حرفياً. يجب أن ينتهي هذا. يجب أن تنتهي هذه القسوة. نحن بحاجة إلى وقف إطلاق النار ونحن بحاجة إليه الآن.”
وثقت منظمة الصحة العالمية 212 هجوماً على الرعاية الصحية في قطاع غزة منذ 7 أكتوبر مما أثر على 56 منشأة صحية (بما في ذلك 24 مستشفى تضررت) و59 سيارة إسعاف.
أفاد السيد ليندمير أن الأطفال "في الواقع يتوسلون ويبكون من أجل الماء".
"نحن في ذلك المستوى حيث لم تعد الإمدادات الأكثر طبيعية وأساسية متاحة بعد الآن،” قال.
عادةً “في أي وضع مخيم للاجئين”، شدد، سيكون هناك حد أدنى من سبعة لترات من الماء يومياً لكل شخص، بينما في غزة هذا الرقم حالياً بين لتر واحد ولترين.
حالياً، فقط 14 من أصل 36 مستشفى في قطاع غزة تعمل وقادرة على استقبال مرضى جدد، وحتى في هذه المنشآت تكون الخدمات محدودة. فقط اثنان من المستشفيات التي تعمل جزئياً في الشمال. المستشفيان الرئيسيان في جنوب غزة يعملان بثلاثة أضعاف طاقتهما الاستيعابية، ويواجهان نقصاً حاداً في الإمدادات الأساسية والوقود.
وفقاً لوزارة الصحة في غزة، تصل معدلات الإشغال إلى 206 في المائة في أقسام المرضى الداخليين و250 في المائة في وحدات العناية المركزة. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، توفر هذه المستشفيات مأوى لآلاف النازحين داخلياً.
“الوضع في غزة لا يصدق. حرفياً، النظام الصحي على ركبتيه،” كرر المتحدث باسم منظمة الصحة العالمية. “لا تستطيع غزة تحمل خسارة أي منشأة صحية أخرى، أو سيارة إسعاف واحدة أخرى، أو مستشفى آخر. نحن نرى، ما نخشى، أن الجنوب سيشهد نفس ما شهدته الشمال.”
وفقاً لوزارة الصحة في غزة، بين 7 أكتوبر و7 ديسمبر بعد الظهر، قُتل ما لا يقل عن 17,177 فلسطينياً في القطاع، حوالي 70 في المائة منهم يُقال إنهم نساء وأطفال، وأصيب 46,000 آخرين. العديد من الأشخاص مفقودون، يُفترض أنهم تحت الأنقاض، في انتظار الإنقاذ أو الانتشال.
