Les chaînes d'approvisionnement stimulent le commerce et l'économie mondiale : par exemple, le transport maritime international relie les pays et les ports, transportant plus de 80 % des volumes de commerce mondial.
Ces dernières années, les chaînes d'approvisionnement mondiales ont été perturbées par des crises telles que le changement climatique, comme le montre la sécheresse affectant le canal de Panama, les tensions géopolitiques comme en mer Rouge et en mer Noire, les pénuries d'énergie, ainsi que la pandémie de COVID-19. Les perturbations des chaînes d'approvisionnement augmentent les prix des biens, comme l'a montré l'expérience.
Les responsables gouvernementaux, les dirigeants d'entreprise et les experts présents au forum examineront des questions telles que la numérisation, la sécurité alimentaire, les coûts de transport, le changement climatique, les besoins de financement des pays en développement et la manière de mieux gérer la transition énergétique dans le transport international.
